Hello! We have some great news to share. Between our first successful fundraiser, a heartfelt retirement, and the arrival of a new K9 team member, there's been a lot to celebrate — and your support is at the heart of it all.

Our 2024 Meet & Greet was a huge success. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and donated — your support made a real impact.
Honoring K9 Sam's Service
After seven years of dedicated service to the Glendora community, K9 Sam officially retired in June 2024. Her handler, Officer Joel Cloud, was promoted to detective at the time of Sam's retirement. As is common with K9 teams, handlers often adopt their partners when they retire — and Sam now lives with Detective Cloud. Their bond is truly special, and we're glad Sam gets to enjoy a well-earned retirement with his partner.
Not long after retiring, Sam needed hernia surgery. Thanks to the funds raised at the Meet & Greet, the Foundation was able to help cover the cost, rather than it coming entirely out of Detective Cloud's pocket. This is exactly the kind of support your donations make possible.
Welcoming Our New K9 Team
The search for a new K9 is officially over. Please help us welcome Rody, a 3-year-old Belgian Malinois from the Netherlands. Rody is a very handsome dog and is already winning hearts.
Corporal Mark Reyes is the new K9 handler and has teamed up with Rody. They completed the six-week training program earlier this year and are now active in the community. Glendora PD is excited to welcome this new team member — and we can't wait to see them in action.

About the Foundation
Our K9 Teams are assigned to the Glendora PD patrol division, handling calls for service throughout the city. When circumstances meet the strict criteria for a K9 deployment, the team responds to assist with the search and/or apprehension. They are subject to call-out on their days off, and respond to neighboring cities for mutual aid. Once a K9 reaches retirement age, the handler has the option of purchasing the K9 from the City of Glendora and keeping them as a pet.
